From the Summit of Mount Rainier to San Diego Real Estate

It has been an adventurous week on our end.

Ryan and two friends have been training and planning to climb Mount Rainier for several months. They started Friday morning and reached the summit (14,410 feet) around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The entire climb took about 30 hours round trip, covering nearly 20 miles and more than 9,000 feet of elevation.

Needless to say, it was an incredible experience that puts a lot of things into perspective. You can see some of the photos and videos and follow along here on Instagram.

A big thank you to Tracie for supporting these adventures!

On the real estate front, the market remains steady with limited inventory.

Below, we've picked six of the best new listings to hit the market this week.

For perspective, we've also included links to all of the new listings in several areas. When a zip code only sees 3 to 20 new listings each week, you know that anything good is going to generate activity.

Once you narrow it down by condos versus homes, price point, size, and location, active buyers are often only seeing a couple of viable new options every week or two.

  • Of the six featured properties, the home on Avenida De Las Pescas will likely be the hottest property this week and could easily get bid up.
  • The home on Robin Hood will be a close second, offering a great price for a large, turnkey home in a family-friendly neighborhood.
  • The house on Linda Rosa should also move quickly, as it probably offers the best view-for-value opportunity currently on the market.
  • Clemson Circle is a very rare opportunity in a premier neighborhood with very little turnover. You can go years without a home becoming available in this area. It sits on a large 1.5-acre lot and offers significant upside for someone willing to remodel or rebuild.
  • The home on Marisma offers a great floor plan, some nice views, a cul-de-sac location, and is only minutes from the Village.

Here are all of the new listings from the past seven days in several key areas. As you can see, it's still a slow trickle of new inventory.

The Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged at its latest meeting, which was widely expected. It's important to remember that mortgage rates don't directly follow the Fed's decisions. They're driven more by the bond market and investor expectations. For buyers and sellers, not much changes this week. We continue to operate in a market where inventory remains the biggest factor affecting home prices and competition.

How to Build a Vintage Art Collection That Feels Personal, Not Perfect - from the owner of olive ateliers

Via Homes & Gardens

There is a particular warmth that only an old painting brings into a room. Not the warmth of a color, though that helps, but the sense that something in the space has already lived a life before it arrived in yours. Vintage artwork carries its own weather. You can feel the hand that made it and, faintly, all the walls it hung on before this one.
